Our Packaging Team is responsible for the efficient operation of various cheese packaging. Including cutting, accurately filling and securing products to ship to customers. This position must interact well with all other departments. Additionally, this position must interact well with all other departments and be willing to learn and assist in other areas as needed. This position must practice safety in all aspects of the job.

Hours 3pm - 11pm (Mon-Fri & occasional Saturday) Overtime as needed.

80 Hours PTO accrual within 1st year!

Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand and know the set up and cleanup operation of the packaging line.
• Accurately cut bulk blocks of cheese up to 50lbs.
• Maintain line speed as per supervisor’s instructions.
• Inspect weight and seal retail packages of cheese.
• Accurately package 7.5 oz to 50lbs cuts into proper boxes.
• Assure proper labeling per order as set by the supervisor.
• Understand sanitation operations of the Packaging Department.
• Properly record Production and Quality data.
• Maintain open communications with all departments.
• Maintain a sanitary workspace according to the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Follow all current company policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required (Basic) Education / Experience/ Competencies and Other Skills:

• Must be punctual, dependable, and responsible.
• Ability to read and follow directions.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer knowledge preferred but will train..
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eagerness to learn and work in the dairy food industry.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repetitively.
• Stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
• Pass a drug & alcohol screen as well as a general background check.

Work Environment:

Food plant environment. Must adhere to all food and plant safety policies and regulations.

Work with chemicals for cleaning purposes.
