Job Summary:
The Channel Sales Representative is responsible for the sales growth of an assigned manufacturer product line in the North American territory. The manufacturer is a strong player in the signal conditioning and signal interface products market. The Channel Sales Representative is responsible for promoting the assigned product line to channel partners, who resell products to end users. They are responsible for understanding channel partner business goals, and developing strategies for increasing sales that align with these business goals.
They will call on channel partners directly, and will also call on end users alongside channel partner sales personnel to support the channel partner’s sales activities. They may also call on end users independently to help promote channel partner sales.
The channel representative will also assist management in evaluating the performance of channel partners, identifying gaps in channel partner coverage in target segments, and assist in developing channel partners, or recruiting new channel partners to address these gaps.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Achieve or exceed the annual sales goal for the assigned product line
- Serve as the main point of contact for our secondary distributor (channel) partners
- Initiate and conduct sales activities, both to channel partners, with channel partners, and in support of channel partners within the assigned territory
- Understand channel partner business concepts, goals and strategies, and develop complementary approaches to create win-win sales activities
- Recommend products and supply quotes to our channel partners
- Maintain and manage relationships with decision makers and key team members at channel partners
- Position is expected to develop a deep working knowledge of the products and be able to recommend appropriate products strategically to win opportunities. Training will be provided by both the organization & manufacturer, but taking time to read, view and learn all applicable product manuals, literature and presentations is mandatory to succeed
- Maintain and organize marketing materials and demo units to facilitate the promotion of the products
- Assist in coordinating channel partner events & webinars, as well as present webinar content
- Assist in evaluating the performance of channel partners
- Assist in identifying gaps in channel partner coverage
- Assist in developing channel partners and recruiting new channel partners
- Other duties as needed to support the growth and development of the market in the NA territory
Territory:
Approximately 95% USA, 4% Canada, 1% Mexico
Travel:
Approximately 50% - Company Vehicle Provided
Requirements:
- 2-3 years experience in Channel Sales, OR process/factory automation sales preferred but not a must.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
