Job Summary: As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a Behavioral Health facility, your primary job description involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Your job duties may include:
Assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Monitoring and recording patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
Helping patients with mobility and positioning, including assisting patients with transfers and ambulation.
Assisting with meals and feeding, and monitoring patients' food and fluid intake.
Monitoring patients for safety and security, including identifying and reporting any changes in behavior or condition.
Providing emotional support and assistance to patients with mental health conditions, including encouraging participation in group activities and therapy sessions.
Maintaining patient records and documenting observations and interactions in patients' medical records.
Assisting in the implementation of patient care plans and participating in team meetings to discuss patient care and progress.
Participating in ongoing training and education programs to maintain and improve nursing assistant skills and knowledge.
It's important to note that the job duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Behavioral Health facility may vary depending on the specific needs and requirements of the facility and its patients.
Experience: 2 years of behavioral health experience working with psych patients, dementia, or Alzheimer patients.
Ideally, a hospital setting but will consider SNF/LTC as long as they have experience working with behavioral health.
Orientation: 1 week
Floating: Staff may be asked to float to the units below
Forensic Services Unit (FSU) - FSU is a 95-bed inpatient unit for patients who enter the forensic (legal) unit in the hospital
Geropsychiatric Unit (GPU) - GPU is a 101-bed unit that provides inpatient psychiatric evaluation and treatment
Adult Psychiatric Unit (APU) - APU is a 91-bed unit that provides inpatient hospitalization for adults 18 to 50 years old
Schedule: The schedule makes changes due to need and census. Evenings and nights are the direst to fill. The facility request all travelers to be flexible and will coordinate during orientation.
Shift: Mid 5x8-Hour (14:30 - 23:00)

Salary: Up to $1,400.00 per week
