GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the provider with front office and back office duties in the outpatient management of patients. General duties may include receptionist and clerical duties, assisting with patient flow, taking vital signs, preparing the patient for exam, assisting the provider with procedures as directed and needed, comprehensive charting, patient referrals and all associated paperwork.

EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma.

Medical Assistant certification from an accredited training program with AAMA or NCMA certification.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Mandatory Reporter Certification required.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Must have the ability to demonstrate self-confidence and positive attitude toward self and others. Maintains commitment and enthusiasm to goal achievement.

Excellent team player and communication skills required.

Ability to display exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.

Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.

One year experience in outpatient or urgent care clinic preferred.

Knowledge of EPIC preferred.
