Sunday-Saturday 0700-1930- Full time

Experience: Possess a minimum of one year experience performing duties of a Lactation Consultant within the last five years.
Qualifications: BLS certification; Possess and maintain current Board Certification, by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) to include recertification and continuing education as required by the IBLCE.
Duties:
Provide professional lactation consultant care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner.- Formulate and carry out a goal directed plan of care according to patient needs and available resources.
- Establish breastfeeding postpartum follow-up as needed.
- Provide lactation consultation instructions upon patient release. Preform assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner.
- Maintain and track breastfeeding statistics. Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) program. Initiate changes in practice if required.
- Work closely with the MCIN staff to provide breastfeeding education to Tricare Beneficiaries.
- Participate in the revision of breastfeeding policy and teaching plan as needed based on current evidenced based research/literature.
- Assist in instructing other medical personnel to include providers, RNs, LPNs, and ancillary personnel supporting the NHCL breastfeeding policy and teaching plan.
