OTTS is seeking qualified Ceremonies/Events Scheduling candidates in support of the G3 mission at Fort Benning, GA. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award.
Summary / Scope of Work
The Ceremonies/Events Scheduling staff will coordinate with units on the installation in planning and conducting ceremonies, and Very Important Person (VIP) events In Accordance With (IAW) Army, and local policies and regulations.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Conduct unit briefings on support requirements and brief the Commanding General, Assistant Commandant, Chief of Staff, State and Federal Civilian officials and other VIP’s, as designated by the Government, involved in ceremonies, conferences and other events, as designated by the COR. Post briefings, notes to SharePoint upon conclusion.
- Prepare and once approved by the Government, distribute memoranda of instruction and standard operating procedures for ceremonies to units involved. All correspondence will be composed of accurate information, and in accordance with AR 25-50 and TR 1-11.
- Facilitate scheduling the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) Band for all functions approved by the Government requiring the use of the Band, on and off the installation.
- Process all requests for bleachers, chairs, risers, flags, and requests for equipment, delivery and setup of the same for use in ceremonies, both on and off the installation.
- Facilitate scheduling daily, or less frequently, as approved by the Government academic and medical review boards, escorts, post details, investigations, inventories, special duty (with/without voucher), combined arms live fire exercise/hands on training exercise support, programs of instruction support, color guard/ceremony details and request from the public affairs office.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, surveys, charts, graphs, and tables from rough draft into final form or intermediate draft. This includes memoranda, reports, letters, directives, technical papers, forms and other tabular narrative correspondence for ceremonies and special events.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Protocol, Military Studies, Communications, Marketing, or Diplomacy (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in planning and execution of high-visibility events
- Knowledge and experience in military protocol (Very Important Person -VIP/General Officer- GO level)
- Secret Security Clearance required
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships, professional demeanor and attitude; ability to work cooperatively with military and civilian workforces
- Proficiency in MS Office and personal computer skills
