Northern New Mexico Integrated Security, located in beautiful northern New Mexico, provides a professional, highly trained protective force that safely secures special nuclear material, people and other critical assets for the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Central Alarm Stations (CAS) and Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) Supervisor position is responsible for directing and controlling the CAS operations and supervising the CAS personnel. In addition, this position has direct oversight and accountability for CUAS operations, including monitoring, detection, identification, tracking and neutralization of unauthorized unmanned aerial systems (UAS) activity within Los Alamos National Laboratory’s (LANL) restricted air space. The Supervisor communicates with the LANL Emergency Response Organization (ERO) regarding a UAS situation, and the compensatory measures required after employment of CUAS measures, including the initiation and coordination of render-safe operations for downed platforms.

COMPENSATION

$40.35 - $42.35 per hour; Non-Exempt, Full-time

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience:

  • S. Citizenship required.
  • Work is performed onsite. Position is not remote.
  • Associates degree or four (4) years’ experience in security or related field.
  • Currently have, or be able to obtain and maintain, a Department of Energy (DOE) Q level security clearance
  • Currently have, or be able to obtain and maintain, certification in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid unrestricted NM driver’s license.
  • Ability to meet and maintain Security Officer standards under 10 CFR 1046
  • Ability to speak and write in a grammatically correct, professional manner, draft correspondence, proofread text, coordinate the work of others and prepare reports.
  • Must be able to react, provide direction, leadership and support under any type of emergency conditions.
  • Intermediate level computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite of software.
  • Support force-on-force activities as directed.

Desired Education and Experience (Considered a Plus):

  • Basic Security Officer certification program, supervisor training and all Security Officer certifications. Required to complete upon hire if not already certified.
  • Certification as a CUAS operator with neutralization authority.
  • Certification as a UAS pilot/pilot in command
  • Prior military experience as a UAS operator (Army MOS 15W/Air Force MOSC 1U0X1)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in an office and in the field under various conditions, including inclement weather. Life threatening and adverse situations are possible while protecting and ensuring the safety of the public and national security. Shift work is required.

Physical demands of the position may vary from situation to situation. Required fitness standards are contained in 10 CF$ 1046. Physical work demands are considered light with lifting requirements up to 20 pounds with the ability to utilize upper extremities daily. Must have the visual acuity to make general observations of facilities or structures. May be subject to hazards including moving vehicles and firearms. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
