The CDL/VIN Specialist is responsible for directing and coordinating comprehensive Commercial Driver License examinations to determine qualified Class A commercial motor vehicle operators through written, pre-trip, basic controls skills tests, and road tests of applicants; conducting detailed VIN inspections to identify illegal violations and fraudulence; and providing a range of program coordination and support services.

This position performs a variety of other duties that include conducting fair hearings; providing technical information and legal interpretations to various parties; performing Driver Examiner duties as requested; developing and delivering training presentations; and performing a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • One-year customer service experience
  • One-year computer and software systems experience including a variety of word processing, database, and other business software applications and reviewing, verifying, and processing documents
  • Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
