Far Gov is looking for an experienced Catholic religious education coordinator providing relevant work experience in Religious Education, also, demonstrates an adequate education and background in this field, and fully capable of accomplishing his duties in such an effective and efficient manner. for the Scott chapel in AFB IL.
Job Position: Catholic RE Coordinator
Place of performance: Scott AFB, Illinois
Work Hours: Not to exceed 25 hours per week
Requirements:
- Have a master's degree in theology or related studies, the advanced certificate of Catechesis, or provide proof of two years' experience in this or similar role.
- The advanced certificate of Catechesis is defined by the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS).
- Experience with Catholic Religious Education and the whole spectrum of Roman Catholic Liturgical practices since the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council.
- At least two years of experience coordinating religious education is required.
- Remain current in all catechist trends by reading, attending workshops, and/or participating in continuing education.
- Provide a signed letter from the Priest of the contract employee's Catholic Church indicating that the contract employee is in good standing.
- Time management
Duties:
- Coordinate sacramental preparation programs to include Baptism
- recruiting catechists and setting time and place for parent-teacher meetings
Organize, plan, schedule, and publicize religious programs including Catholic Vacation Bible School (VBS) and maintain a sign-up/attendee log for program events
