As the Category Development Manager (CDM), you will assist the Sr. Category Manager in leading the category management process for Baby & Child Care categories at Target. This position will interface directly with the customer as well as cross-functionally within Kimberly-Clark. The CDM will develop and execute category growth strategies by leveraging a variety of databases, tools, and consumer insights. You will provide analysis that leads to actionable assortment, shelving, pricing and merchandising recommendations.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze, manage, and track key business metrics

  • Integrate insights and analytics to drive DPSM initiatives

  • Develop strong and sustainable retailer partnerships by providing strategic recommendations that promote total Category growth

  • Utilize space planning software to build and validate planograms

  • Leverage household panel and shopper data to uncover white space opportunities

  • Examine historic promotions to recommend efficient programming with strong lifts and positive ROI’s

  • Understand customer specific systems to include methodology, reporting, and measures

  • Ensure database integrity and report accuracy

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years or more of relevant CPG experience

  • Sales Analysis and/or Category Management experience preferred

  • Experience with syndicated data (Nielsen or IRI)

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Travel: up to 20%
