Main responsibilities of a cashier: (Starting as part-time, could work into full-time position)
Times needed were 6:00 am to 2:00 PM and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Providing exceptional service to each customer
- Accepting payments and providing receipts
- Bagging purchased goods
- Managing transactions, making sure pricing is accurate
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Greet customers entering store.
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
- Ability to use cash register, and optical price scanners.
- Redeem customers
- Resolve customer complaints and answer customers' questions.
- Weigh items sold by weight to determine prices
- Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales.
- Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
- Stock shelves, and hang tags
- Abide by all city, county, state and federal regulations.
- Perform specific tasks as assigned by store manager and/or assistant manager.
- Follow correct vendor check-in procedures, within company guidelines and as instructed by store manager and/or assistant manager.
- Clean parking lot and grounds surrounding the store.
Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
May need to be able to push 25 lbs.
May need to be able to pull 25 lbs.
Must be able to bend, squat, climb and lift objects overhead
Must be able to tolerate temperature differentials
Must be able to work nights, holidays and weekends
Must be able to perform basic match calculations in order to make change
Must possess good oral communication skills
