Cash Office Clerk Job at Bishop's Orchards Farm Market & Winery
Position Overview:
As a retail business, cash is collected on a daily basis. The Cash Office Clerk will handle monetary operations. The primary focus is on auditing cash drawers and making daily deposits. This position is part time and split with one other Cash Office Clerk, resulting in one Cash Office Clerk each day to count the previous day's drawers. Days will include set weekdays (3 days) and needed flexibility to split weekends with the other Cash Office Clerk. Reports to Accounting Manager.
Duties:
· Verification of cashier daily work and consolidation of all cashier work into a daily deposit
· Ensure adequate change on hand and verifying internal cash on hand
· Ensure balancing of all reports including EFT and sales
· Enter any AR invoices and receive payments. Send statements when necessary
· Open communication to Retail Team Manager and Accounting Manager for any cashier exceptions outside of limits
· Maintaining accurate, up-to-date files of all records assigned so they are readily accessible to authorized staff
· Provide phone coverage and backup for other office staff; including positive customer interaction, order taking, direct assistance to build company image and repeat customers
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
· Analytical ability and proficiency in math needed to troubleshoot cashier daily work problems
· Excellent organizational skills
· Previous cash handling experience is required (retail, banking, cashiering, etc.)
· Ability to communicate and work well with others
· Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department
· Have good computer skills to use MS Windows, including Microsoft Office and other computer applications used in the business
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
