Dauphin County Social Services for Children & Youth is currently accepting applications for the full-time, day shift position of Caseworker 2 Screener. The Caseworker 2, Screener primarily conducts interviews to assist in determining any level of risk for a multi-disciplinary team to identify the need for Agency intervention for all incoming referrals to the agency. This position performs social service casework within the ACCESS team section of the Children and Youth Agency.
The Caseworker 2 Screener performs general case management as may be directed by the Caseworker Supervisor. This work involves travel within the community, driving clients and co-workers. This position also assists in processing overflow casework paperwork including courtesy supervision cases and placement case paperwork as needed. Work is reviewed by a supervisor, with subsequent review by the Director of Social Services or the Agency Administrator.
Six months of experience as a CYS Caseworker 1; or Successful completion of the Social Casework Intern program; or A bachelor's degree with a social welfare or Social Work major; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, social work, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency.
A resume along with a copy of either an official or unofficial college transcript(s) must be attached to the application.
Transcripts must include: 1) Name of the Applicant, 2) School Name, 3) Full list of academic coursework, 4) Degree (if awarded).
An updated current employment application and resume is required. Applicants who do not provide these items by the closing of the posting will not be interviewed.
A valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable reference checks are required.
