SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This person will be a member of a cross functional engineering team focused on the development and implementation of products, processes, and tooling to support production needs. Individual will assist in planning, leading, implementing, and follow-up on process improvement efforts. This individual will identify, justify, and implement projects to improve quality, safety, and productivity.
PELLA CORPORATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Flexibility of work hours including mandatory OT when business needs requires.

- Regular / dependable attendance consistent with attendance guidelines is required.
- Must meet takt time and productivity goals with accuracy and quality.
- Must operate equipment/tools that require close control, adjustment, following production orders.
- Must comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the job.
- Ability to learn and perform repetitive job tasks.
- Must perform Total Productive Maintenance duties.
- Must maintain good housekeeping.
- Ability to design, specify and/ or modify specialty tooling, fixtures, and machines.
- Ability to communicate specifications and key issues with external vendors on material or equipment purchases.
- Must lead Kaizen events (PIP, CIT, SKB).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED
- It is recommended that the individual has completed or is enrolled and seeking a 2 or 4 year degree in a related field of expertise.
- Manufacturing-related experience is preferred.
- Job specific experience is preferred.
SKILLS & TALENT
- Decision making / problem solving in a manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
- Use of hand tools and machinery is required.
- Requires communication skills and the cognitive ability to learn the safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Learn, comprehend and implement Lock Out/Tag Out and safety and quality procedures to assure the safe and proper operation of the equipment.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s using units of American money.
- Familiarity with American units of measure for weight, time, and distance.
- Possesses time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to confirm that material and equipment purchases are according to specifications through statistical run-off of equipment and appropriate material and component testing.
- Ability to consult on analysis of major repairs, rebuilds, and modifications.
- Ability to understand, promote and follow CI, TPM, MDI, Quality, and Safety principles.
- Knowledge of computer software such as AutoCAD, CMMS, and Microsoft Office required.
- Knowledge of machines and machine qualifications.
- Possesses excellent project management skills and utilize PPM process.
