Description:
Guaranteed 40 hours a week. Mainly Monday to Friday 8am-5pm but will be available to float to evening shifts or weekends as needed. The purpose of this role is to fill in as needed as an in-home personal caregiver throughout the areas that FirstLight Home Care provides services to clients. You will be required to have open availability Monday through Friday each week from 8am-5pm. The employee will be notified when open shifts are available and need coverage throughout the week. You should be willing to cover any shift that is assigned in your area within the timeframe assigned.

Job Duties:

• You will be required to answer or return any phone calls within 30 minutes of receiving them from FirstLight office staff.
• Light household cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry, dishes, trash, meal prep, cooking, running errands, grocery shopping and other tasks requested by the client within the scope of light household keeping.
• Assistance with personal care to include bathing, dressing, grooming, assistance with incontinence, mobility and transfers.
• Basic knowledge of medical conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, diabetes, hospice care and other prevalent medical conditions that can affect the aging population.

If not assigned to a client during the weekday then you will come into the office to help with administrative tasks during office hours.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
• 6-month of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or 6 months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare preferred
• 1-3 years of experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare (in homes or facilities)
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
• Pass a background check
• Possess or obtain a valid TB test
• CNA or HHA license is required
