Silver Heart Chateau in Santee, CA is looking for compassionate Caregivers to join our 6 person strong team. We are located on 9724 Eucalyptus Ct.. Our ideal candidate is passionate, a self-starter, flexible and hard-working. We are looking for a day and night shift position. Salary is based on experience.

Description of the Position:

Caregiver is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services to residents and their families. Promotes residents’ well-being and satisfaction through support with activities of daily living such as eating, dressing, bathing, toileting etc. Communicates with other staff to ensure resident needs are met. Provide observation and supervision of the residents and report any unusual incidents to administration.

Responsibilities

1. Assist with activities of daily living, including assisting residents with taking their centrally stored medications.

2. Following facility planned emergency procedures and protocol, licensing regulation and guidelines for both resident and employee safety.

3. Follow safety guidelines in the facility, including proper lifting technique and universal precautions when providing care to the residents.

4. Follow the schedule of duties for the caregiver, as well as the individual plan of care for each resident including scheduled activities.

5. Encourage residents to participate in activities based on residents’ likes.

6. Function as a team, assisting coworkers as the need arises.

7. Monitor resident activity, food intake, functional status, psychosocial status, acting as required to promote resident well-being.

8. Report resident health changes immediately to the supervisor.

9. Act immediately on any resident crisis, following protocol and basic first aid, CPR training.

10. In the event all assigned duties cannot be completed, ask for assistance and report to the administrator.

11. Any other assignments made by administrator as deemed necessary.

12. Prepare meals and snacks for the residents.

13. Promote open communication between health care professionals, families, residents and staff.

14. Do all laundry and housekeeping services for the residents and the facility that is required.

15. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families as you help with activities of daily living, attend to individual care needs and get to know their unique preferences and personalities.

16. Notify management of changes in condition and recommend adjustments in the level of care and service.

17. Responds to the dining needs of the residents and guests throughout the day as requested.

Qualifications

All caregivers Must be at least 18 years of age, shall have a criminal record clearance by DOJ and FBI prior to presence in the facility. All caregivers should have current TB and the health screening clearance.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

Relevant work experience in an assisted living environment desired, but not required. An understanding of the unique responsibilities in dealing with the needs of older adults. Have a genuine concern and sensitivity for the welfare of the elderly and the challenges of aging. Physical ability to perform the duties, including the ability to assist with mobility and resident transfers is essential. CPR and basic first aid certifications are required.

7. Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
