Essential Job Functions
- Manages the coordination and execution of university conferences and events from campus departments including; establishing rates with university finance office, development and implementation of marketing strategies, completion of the Property Use License Agreements, housing and room rental confirmation, client relations, quality control, billing and report maintenance
- Plans and manages select signature events, including managing the summer intern housing program supporting corporate partners
- Manages program logistics and mitigates on site issues for the duration of the event
- Manages scheduling of university events center from various departments and student groups through requests submitted via multiple platforms
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal departments and outside vendors related to event design and coordination
- Develops staffing plans to support the execution of events
- Plans, coordinates and runs various conferences and events on campus to balance mission focused events with revenue opportunities
- Reviews and assesses campus conferences and events including logistics, facilities and revenue generated to make recommendations and modifications, as necessary
- Oversees and maintains the sanitation of the university events kitchen in accordance with university guidelines and external regulations
- Oversees venue maintenance and facilities improvements through direct communication with other university departments
- Assists in the planning and execution of commencement
- Prepares and monitors the departmental budget
- Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Experience working in event management or in other related work
- Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality or a related field of study
