We are looking for a construction Project Engineer to be responsible for all technical disciplines that civil projects involve. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

This position would be assigned to a Caltrans project.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing
  
• Provide technical support and direction regarding project material controls including delivery dates, construction schedules and design requirements to ensure additional costs are minimized
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with Project Manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
  
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  
• Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
• Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, corporate management, inspectors, etc., providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with client base
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree required
• Caltrans experience required
• Proven working experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager on a large civil construction project
  
• Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawing and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards for civil construction
• Maintain ability to work in high production environment
• Demonstrated decision-making skills
• Excellent leadership skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
  
• Advanced MS Office skills
