Cafe Team Member | Part-Time (16-24 hours)

Description of role:

Café Team Members make delicious sandwiches and wraps, pairing it with the perfect hand-crafted drink. They cut and prepare fresh fruits, veggies, and meat for the department, and keep displays well-stocked and beautifully presented. Responsibilities and Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Practices a total store approach to customer service; maintains a positive, empathetic, respectful and professional attitude towards customers
• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the drink and sandwich menus
• Prepares quality sandwiches/wraps and beverages, follows prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
• Maintains inventories by replenishing smoothie/juice bar ingredients, coffee beans and supplies
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations; maintains order and cleanliness of the department
• Perform food preparation tasks such as washing product, cutting fresh fruits, veggies and meats, and other tasks as assigned by the Fresh Foods Manager

Skills and Requirements:

• (Required) 1+ food service experience
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Driver’s License
• Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced café and kitchen environment
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Strong customer service skills
• A strong love of food
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with a professional and friendly attitude
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• (Preferred) 1+ customer service experience

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand up to eight hours a day
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds at a time independently or with assistance on an occasional to frequent basis
• Ability to use fine motor schools
• Ability to adapt to changes in temperature due to opening doors, coolers, and freezers
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, crouch, walk, kneel, push, pull and twist repeatedly
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
