This role will support our two facilities in the Cleveland area (Berea and Brecksville).

Summary/Objective
Develop and manage a supply chain of goods and/or services while driving commercial advantages through the achievement of quality, cost, and delivery goals. Manage material volume & control costs while meeting delivery and quality requirements.

• Manage day to day purchasing activities for two facilities
• Coordinate material deliveries to meet inventory requirements
• Coordinate material deliveries between suppliers and operations team for optimal schedule attainment
• Support the utilization of the corporate wide ERP system, adjusting planning parameters where necessary to meet the business needs
• Coordinate weekly material reviews with other plant personnel to improve customer service levels
• Inform internal operations of demand requirements to support production schedules
• Provide guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Must be able to operate a computer/keyboard, ability to use the phone, and sit for long periods of time. Communicate using speech, hearing and vision skills.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. General business hours are 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands.

Travel

This position requires 15-20% travel.

Required Education and Experience

• Associate Degree or bachelors degree
• 1 - 3 years purchasing experience; knowledge of methods and techniques used in supply chain
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of ERP systems
• Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix organization
• Self-starter, resourceful strategic thinker
• Willingness & ability to promote operations excellence and continuous improvement

Preferred Education and Experience

• Epicor ERP System experience
• Experience working in the fastener or metal industries
• Experience working with suppliers of plating, drilling, turning, heat treating, and grinding
• Experience working in made-to-order and made-to-stock environments
