As a buyer, you will play a vital role in the procurement and logistics team in Instrumentation, Process Automation Measurement & Analytics (PAMA) in Warminster, Pennsylvania. The Buyer expected to work independently but with a collaborative spirit when needed. Emphasis will be placed on negotiating pricing, establishing preferred suppliers, understanding the cost structures of key commodities, ensuring the timely delivery of material, monitoring and improving supplier performance, meeting annual cost reduction goals, leading/supporting strategic projects, implementing process improvements where appropriate and meeting annual inventory targets.

Your responsibilities

• Purchasing materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms, negotiating with main suppliers and periodically renewing price lists, terms and conditions
• Initiating purchase orders according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures
• Overseeing supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolving performance issues
• Identifying and qualifying new suppliers together with supplier quality and engineering specialists
• Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Supply Chain Management or engineering field and minimum of 3 years of experience as a Buyer
• Demonstrated experience working in ERP (SAP experience is preferred)
• Knowledge of MS Excel and Office Application. ERP experience
• A collaborative, solution focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
• Good communication and fluent in written and spoken English
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
