Job title: Butcher/ Meat Cutter

1 position available in Argyle, Tx and 1 in Keller, Tx

Qualifications:

Previous meat cutting experience is required.
Friendly personality that is able to listen completely to what the customer is asking and then produce a result that exceeds customer expectations. Some knowledge in cuts of meat including Beef, Chicken, Pork, Lamb. Able to provide cooking tips and advice for customers as needed. Perform at the highest level under pressure in an extremely fast paced, ever changing work day. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work as a team and build up team members. Attitude is everything and nothing less than a positive attitude will be acceptable.

Pay schedule is bi-weekly

Hours:
Store hours: Tuesday — Saturday 9am-6pm Closed every Sunday
Possibly open on some Monday’s in the event of a Holiday is near
Meat cutters starting hours will depend on work load and amount of clean up needed.

Closed Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, Easter Day, New Years Day. Open all other days. Working holidays/weekends is a must.

Duties
Cut and display meats daily in order to keep a fresh appearance for customer purchase
Assist in maintaining equipment. log and or report any problems as soon as it is noticed
Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery. Provide BOL to owner for inventory update. Maintain up to date inventory with inventory taken monthly
Cut, bone, or grind pieces of meat while maintaining daily grind log
Weigh, wrap, and display cuts of meat
Cut or prepare meats to specification or customer’s orders
Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature
Keep inventory of meat sales and order meat supplies in timely manner
Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards daily
Provide leadership while the owners are not present.

Work Environment
Must keep hands and working areas clean to prevent meat contamination and pass any and all health inspections for the city of Keller and Tarrant County Health Dept. as well as be presentable for customers.
Training
Must hold a valid food handlers card prior or obtain within 7 days of employment
Within 30 days must be willing to obtain and maintain managers food service card.
General Qualities
Concentration. Butchers and meat cutters must pay close attention to what they are doing to avoid injury and waste of product.
Customer-service skills. Those who work in retail stores should be courteous, be able to answer customers’ questions, and fill orders to the customers’ satisfaction and exceed expectations.
Manual dexterity. Butchers and meat cutters use sharp knives and meat cutting equipment as part of their duties. Therefore, they must have good hand control in order to make proper cuts of meat that are the right size.
Physical stamina. Butchers and meat cutters spend hours on their feet while cutting, packaging, or storing meat.
Physical strength. Butchers and meat cutters should be strong enough to lift and carry heavy boxes of meat, which often weigh up to 65+ pounds.

Any violations of this description may result in a write up that will go in the employees personal file as well as the possibility of job termination.
