The Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research seeks a part-time (benefits eligible) Business Operations Specialist (BOS). Under general supervision, the BOS performs a broad range of human resource, financial and business operation functions as outlined in the essential duties.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a high attention to detail, possess exceptional organizational and customer service skills, and have the ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

Essential Duties
- Handles HR functions including recruitments, new hire onboarding, personnel changes and semester hires using Kenexa, PeopleSoft and other systems;
- Assists with coordination and processing of personnel searches and hiring and maintains personnel files consistent with University/College policies and practices;
- Maintains internal database to track payroll actions;
- Processes student award/scholarship payments;
- Runs payroll and/or financial reports as needed;
- Processes travel reimbursements, purchase of supplies, services, and equipment with use of P Card and other purchasing documents in accordance with established procurement and financial policies.
- Organizes and/or prepares departmental administrative and financial reports; analyzes, summarizes and interprets information; recommends action to be taken.
- Responds to audit requests and gathers documentation for payroll, pcards, and financial records. Also performs payroll and pcard reconciliations.
- Performs all activities associated with Department Time Administrator to ensure accurate and timely recording of exception and positive time for human resource staff members.
- Represents the college/department and serves on various department and university committees.
- Interacts and maintains liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Seven (7) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in performing payroll, human resources, accounts payable, travel and reconciliations.
- Experience using PeopleSoft, Kenexa BrassRing, Workday, PaymentNet, Concur, Analytics and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Demonstrated knowledge of ASU’s Human Resource, Financial, Fiscal, and travel policies and procedures is a plus.
- Experience working in a high-volume environment.
- Experience in working independently and utilize communication/problem solving skills to efficiently identify issues, concerns and interests and provide effective solutions.
- Experience working with grants is a plus.
- Experience with SN tickets (Work Orders).
- Experience using Microsoft Office (excel, word)
- Experience using Adobe.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (25).
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Calculator, telephone, computer (monitor, keyboard and mouse), printer, fax and copier.
- This position receives regular review of objectives.
