The Business Operations Financial Analyst will be the leader in driving operational reporting and budgeting for Havenpark. They will work closely with Executive Leadership and key stakeholders from all departments to assist field teams drive performance through reporting and analyzing key performance indicators. They will drive the operating and capital planning process and provide variance analysis and forecasting on how we are performing to budget. The Business Operations Financial Analyst will also be responsible for maintaining data and creating reports within the data warehouse and visualization tool. This role is critical to the business and the right person must be a self-motivated and an independent thinker.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage Community Operating and Capital Planning ~ 40% of time
  • Work with the senior leadership team to develop and maintain operating budgets for all communities
  • Manage the yearly operating budget setting process to ensure all operating budgets accurately represent the community operations
  • Manage annual capital planning and structure to ensure projects are supported by the appropriate capital funding
  • Ensure all new acquisitions have full operating budgets within 3 months of a community onboarding
  • Create and manage analysis on operational financial variances and forecasts
  • Lead the Development and Creation of Operational Reporting ~ 40% of time
  • Work with key stakeholders to produce daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly business analysis and reporting to evaluate performance, identify gaps in operations, and inform decisions to meet business requirements and strategies
  • Execute value-added analysis and decision support for projects and initiatives
  • Formulate proposals for new reporting, metrics, systems, procedures, and/or processes
  • Track business performance against KPIs
  • Manage the Data and Reporting within the Data Warehouse and Power BI ~ 20% of time
  • Manage data relationships between Havenpark data warehouse and various company platforms (ManageAmerica, HubSpot)
  • Manage upkeep of the data warehouse and data visualization tool
  • Generate reporting with data visualization tools
  • Review data for validity and accuracy

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a financial / business analyst or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Background in property management is helpful
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools, like Power BI
  • Knowledge of SQL, or equivalent
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in annual budgeting, strategic planning, and reporting
  • Strong ability to listen and communicate effectively through verbal and written forms with both internal employees and external customers
  • Goal oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize
  • The ability to use strong judgement, problem-solving skills and innovate when making decisions
  • The ability to train and coach in one-on-one situation, as well as group settings
  • Excellent multitasking abilities while continuing to be detail oriented and organized
  • Motivated to help others, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Team oriented with an exceptionally strong work ethic and outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to learn and apply new information quickly and consistently
  • Recover quickly from setbacks
  • Must exhibit behaviors consistent with Havenpark's values and culture
