Position Title: Junior Data Architect

Position Location: Wingate Main Campus

Position Summary: The Junior Data Architect will support the design, implementation, and documentation of data solutions, while adhering to policies and procedures for consumption and compliance to the University’s data standards. These solutions support University-wide information management, business intelligence, and other University interests. The Junior Data Architect will also contribute to data and tools, and system standards that coincide with the organizational direction.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Working primarily in, but not limited to: the University’s Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Tableau CRM/Einstein Discovery organizations.)

● Working with the BI Team to define the data architecture framework, standards and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, reference data, and reference architecture

● Defining and creating data flows, from business process model to technical implementation, in conjunction with the BI team

● Translating business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses

● Collaborating and coordinating with multiple departments, stakeholders, and external partners.

● Coordinating with other team members to reach project milestones and deadlines

● Educating university wide stakeholders through training and individual support

● Illustrate subjects using simple diagrams

● Comprehend and apply Data Architecture Standards and design patterns

● Provide verbal and written communication skills and acceptable ability to communicate effectively with team member, peers and leadership

● Work constructively in and facilitate a group, demonstrating the importance of value of diversity, equity and inclusion

● Review requirements and provide feedback to further develop requirements as well as identify overall project impact due to changes

● Perform Data Mapping and file interface designs

● Identify gaps in data to support requests and deliver business value

● Identify and suggest resolutions to problems

● Build and utilize relationships to achieve business objectives

● Breakdown action items into tasks with estimates and dependencies

● Regular, predictable attendance on campus

● Alignment with University mission, vision, and strategic roadmap

● Other job duties/responsibilities may be assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field, or appropriate technical certifications

● A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

● Experience working in the Salesforce Ecosystem

● Strong knowledge of database structure and data mining

● Experience working with integration tools, ETL & APIs

● Excellent organization and analytical abilities

● Outstanding problem solver

● Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning/improvement in diversity, inclusion, and cultural competence

● Good written and verbal communication skills

● Strong math and analytical skills are essential to complete job requirements successfully

● Able to compile and organize statistical information retrieved and present findings to stakeholders

● Experience working with private and sensitive personal information

● Confident in decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as needed

● Strong computer skills and ability to use necessary databases and software

● Interpersonal and customer service skills are required when meeting with diverse partners during business process modeling

● Excellent multitasking skills and task management strategies

● Commitment to actively support and advance DEI initiatives.
