Business Intelligence Analyst Job at MGP Ingredients
Provide analytical support and financial insights for segment business leadership that help the decision-making process and align resource allocation within the business and drive fresh initiatives for financial planning and business intelligence systems.
Essential Functions:
- Internal Analysis
- Work with VP/Director to conduct market analyses and analyze product lines and the overall profitability of the business.
- Develop standardized process in regard to customer reporting, KPI’s, financial dashboards, and data quality metrics to ensure business data and reporting needs are met.
- Service field sales personnel on ad hoc data requests/projects
- System Reporting
- Develop and take ownership of all analytical reporting in Whiteboard, SAP, Salesforce, etc.
- Super User of Internal Barrel Portal. Assist in training field/office personnel on sales-related systems as well as communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance personnel.
- Researches, analyzes, and provides internal sales trend analysis.
- Service field sales personnel on ad hoc data requests/projects
- Market Analysis
- External, Customer, and Industry analysis of the external environment to provide insight into the opportunities and threats within a business environment
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Background and knowledge of the alcohol industry and market is required.
B.S. /B.A. Degree/ (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Economics)
MBA or CPA preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to write SQL queries against any Relational Database Management system with query optimization.
- Experience in the following:
- Creating a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for a business
- Advanced knowledge of Office Suite with expert knowledge of Excel
- Customer budgeting and forecasting
- Trend monitoring
- Financial modelling
- Reporting
- Business tracking
- Demonstrated proficiency in data management and data platforms (such as Microsoft SQL Server or Tableau) and building statistical models.
- Defining business requirements and reporting them back to stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to perform end to end Data validation to maintain accuracy of data sets.
- Strong communication and analytical skills (written & verbal)
- Self-motivated/directed to handle multiple tasks and projects with minimal direction
- Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills as well as displays intellectual curiosity
- Detail-oriented with the ability to draw meaningful/actionable insights using large amounts of data
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to new technologies
- Strong organizational and planning skills required
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work demands.
