Job Summary:

The overall purpose of the Business Development Training Manager is to optimize the competencies and effective use of business development resources to optimize census results in the assigned area. The Divisional Business Development Training Manager has responsibility for ensuring that all Business Development Specialist and Community Relations Coordinators lean on best practices in the use of all programs and processes, as well as ensure that all information is obtained, documented and communicated to the appropriate staff within the Community and the accounts each community services. This position will be responsible for supporting the Regional Directors of Business Development in developing and promoting a strategic sales and marketing plan that will achieve or exceed budgeted census goals in the assigned area.


Qualifications:

  • Preferably 3-5 years of experience in a long-term care setting with demonstrated evidence of census development, with at least one year of management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are required; public speaking skills may be necessary.
  • Thorough understanding of the Long Term Care Market and referral sources including acute care markets
  • History of successful sales training of business development staff
  • Proven history of achieving or exceeding census goals
  • Ability to identify market needs and trends
  • Ability to work collaboratively with seniors and agency leaders to achieve common goals
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.


Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the key member of the regional team to develop, manage, and implement sales and marketing strategies for the Skilled Nursing Division
  • Maintain the established census goals by influencing the ongoing professional development the Business Development teams
  • Work along with the Regional Directors of Business Development to support the business development initiatives that advance the divisions’ market share and growth strategies
  • Ensure all Business Development Specialists and Community Relations Specialists are trained and equipped with all the systems and materials needed to perform effectively their positions
  • Assist in the evaluation of all collateral materials including print, media and online advertising to be current and to meet market and technological standards
  • Partner with community and regional leaders in recruiting and hiring talent responsible for local census development
  • Collaborate with the community and regional leaders to conduct on-going training, coaching, and development of sales team
  • Monitor the utilization of business development tools, marketing material and referral systems as well as compile data to diagnose opportunities for growth and conversion of referrals.
  • Assist community and regional leaders and the sales team to develop a successful community outreach program that will support business development strategies
  • Collaborate with the Regional leaders to develop and execute strategies to reach, maintain and surpass census development initiatives across the skilled nursing division.
  • Conduct ongoing and training programs to optimize the efficiencies of the Business Development Specialists and Community Relations Coordinators
  • Assist community and regional leaders in identifying barriers to the admissions process and help develop and execute a plan to overcome barriers as well as a plan to monitor and maintain progress
  • Collaborate with the regional teams to conduct ongoing analysis of each market and identify opportunities to grow market share to support census initiatives
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of focus areas and assist in developing action plans to help sales teams in influencing census numbers at or above target
  • Performs other duties and/or tasks as assigned.
