Job Summary:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is aligned with a specific regional sales team and helps achieve company growth objectives by finding and initiating new business partnerships. Under the guidance and direction of the Regional Director of Sales (RDS), the BDR will research and create prospect lists of affinity groups and travel agents and is responsible for contacting, qualifying and scheduling sales appointments for local Business Development Managers (BDM). The Business Development Representative reports directly to the Regional Director of Sales and resides within the same region as the RDS.
Primary Functions:
- Strategizing with the RDS to identify the key areas growth opportunity within their region and then develop and maintain thorough prospecting lists of potential new business partners in those areas.
- Achieve a daily target of 50 prospecting communications utilizing phones, emails and social media tools
- Scheduling appointments with qualified prospects with their local BDM to close sales.
- Communicating and maintaining all necessary updates to lead/client profiles in the CRM.
- Collaborating closely with BDM’s, communicating potential opportunities and leads to the appropriate local salesperson.
- Contacting and qualifying leads from conference, events and trade shows.
- Affinity expertise – the BDR must understand and effectively articulate the value we offer to affinity groups and travel agents.
- Attends regional and company sales meetings.
- May attend conferences and trade shows as needed
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Strong phone presence and experience with cold calling
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Self-motivated; takes initiativeExcel in collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Critical thinking skills required; must be able to solve problems on their own
- Have strong PC skills (MS office).
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments
- Availability to attend annual sales meeting.
- Availability to cover trade shows when needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
