Position Summary: Overall, this position is responsible assisting new income business opportunities for Seventh Dimension in support of strategic initiatives. The Business Manager is responsible for filling and maintaining the Seventh Dimension's opportunity pipeline, executing the BD process, maintaining a high Probability of Win for those opportunities selected for capture and bid, and in general growing business within the DoD, Federal Agencies, and target markets.

As the Business Development Manager, you will focus on 8-10 opportunities below $5M annually / 2-3 opportunities between $5M and $10M annually / 1-2 opportunities above $10M annually. These opportunities can be a mixture of prime and subcontract opportunities with the expectation of 50% to be prime opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop opportunities for business expansion and close on existing opportunities already in the pursuit pipeline in our growing business.
  • Build relationships and foster business within our capability areas (Training, Exercise Support, and Service Support) with DoD and Federal customers
  • Conduct opportunity research and qualification, leads capture and pre-proposal activities and arranges / coordinates business development meetings supported by Corporate Leadership
  • Responsible for development and implementation of an integrated action/contact plan based upon capture analysis. This includes aiding in all required pursuit planning and ensuring opportunities are accurately reflected in the pipeline management system
  • Support and informs proposal review, leads proposal solutioning, supports pricing analysis, and coordinates with Technical Subject Matter Experts to develop proposal strategies and technical content
  • Lead win theme development, develops and maintains a detailed capture plan and provides capture status updates at capture reviews
  • Effectively interacting with colleagues and executives in a collaborative environment

Requirements:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance
  • A Bachelor's degree at a minimum (experience in lieu of degree can be substituted with 10 years government contracting experience)
  • 6+ years' experience growing and fostering business within the DoD and Federal Agencies
  • Candidates must have an understanding of the roles of the various functions within a defense contracting business and have an in-depth understanding of U.S. Department of Defense Solicitations and RFPs.
  • Strong research and analytical skills for business analytics and business development
  • Understanding of Work Breakdown Structures, typical Proposal sections and evaluation criteria
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel functionality and formulas is required, working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Good interpersonal skills are important as well as high quality work, attention to detail, and the ability to work within time constraints.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 15%
