Primary Function:
The Business Development Manager – Lithium Battery Market aligns Warren Rupp’s products and services with the needs, trends, and preferences of the global Lithium-Ion Battery market. This role is responsible for growing the business within the Lithium-Ion battery market by hunting new leads, developing sales opportunities, and converting into orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage in direct communication with potential end-user customers to gain in-depth understanding of their businesses, market positions, and requirements.
- Maintain a robust funnel of new business opportunities.
- Conduct Voice-Of-Customer (VOC) interviews with end-user customers.
- Develop market roadmap that provides Total Available Market (TAM) and clear direction on submarkets and applications of focus.
- Support product roadmap development via direct engagement with Product Management and Engineering.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop a compelling sales story and associated collateral.
- Keep a pulse on the Lithium Battery market and report on social, technical, economic, environmental, and political (STEEP) forces impacting the market.
- Develop order forecasts and regularly reports on status.
- Work with existing distribution sales channels as well as identify and develop new channels
Requirements:
- Previous success in business development or sales of manufactured industrial products such as pumps, valves, pipes & fittings, instrumentation, or other adjacent technologies.
- Demonstrated success growing sales distribution channels
- Track record of driving organic growth
- Adept at working directly with end-users, system integrators, OEMs, and EPCs.
- Desired but not necessary: Knowledge of Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing processes.
- Adept at presenting both technical and business-related information to all levels of an organization.
- Proactive self-starter with willingness to take ownership and responsibility.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to work with and motivate internal and external resources.
- 4 Year College Degree – Engineering, Business or related
- 5-10 years related experience required – Business Development or Sales for Industrial products both domestically and internationally.
