Job Purpose

The Business Analyst will be responsible for generating data-guided insights to improve Hisco’s marketing capabilities. Working with internal and external data sources, software platforms and subject matter experts this person will provide reports and information to guide a wide variety of marketing and sales activities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Understand project objectives and elicit information requirements. Proactively communicate and collaborate with management teams to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
• Identify data sources required for analysis – ensure data is organized, cleansed and of sufficient quality to provide credible results. Data sets for analysis include (but not limited to) market data, industry data, customer data, product data and transactional data.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Deliver the results in a clear, understandable, and actionable manner via written report, presentation and other vehicles as required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including, executives, managers, sales, IT and external partners.
• Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
• 3 - 5 years of experience working in B2B business analysis using disparate data sources

Core Competencies

• Aptitude for critical thinking and creative problem solving
• Excellent organizing, prioritizing, and multi-tasking skills
• Demonstrated experience in utilizing databases through queries and reporting
• Exceptional analytical skills, expertise in business statistics, attention to detail
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL
• Proficient in MS Excel
