POSITION PURPOSE
The business banking leader leads a specialized team of business bankers in business development and portfolio management and executes a business banking strategy to meet the Bank’s overall revenue and asset quality objectives.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of schooling, training, and work experience.
- 10 years’ experience in commercial lending including commercial credit analysis, relationship management, and commercial lending.
- Previous business development experience.
- 10 years’ experience in supervisory/management role.
- Completion of appropriate lending course work such as those coordinated by the Bank’s trade associations.

- Excellent social and communication skills and use of professional and clear verbal communication skills. High-quality writing skills, using accurate word usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation in all written correspondence. Use of professional phone etiquette, including tone and volume of voice.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Two Rivers Bank Strategic Objectives/Business Banking Strategy:
- Serves as a Business Banking expert to Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Maintains a strong understanding of the competitive landscape within Two Rivers’ market areas.
- Develops an annual Business Banking budget that focuses on achieving the desired level of revenues and projecting necessary expenditures while focusing on balancing efficiencies with investment in team members and client relationships.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to achieve Business Banking tactical and strategic business goals.
- Assists to identify and maintain a prioritized listing of high-impact, cross-functional projects, and assists with the execution of those projects. Projects will focus on areas for process improvement, sales enablement and data flow improvements.
- Responsible for coordinating, organizing, and managing all financial and performance reporting for the Business Banking line of business and provides Executive level reporting and analytics in relation to strategic initiatives and business objectives.
- Assists with M&A due diligence and any subsequent acquisition integration as it relates to Business Banking.
- *Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees a diverse lending group that may consist of Market Presidents, Business Bankers, and Portfolio Managers.
- Provides information and ongoing feedback to department staff regarding expectations and performance.
- Leads consistent team meetings focused on calling activities in addition to pipeline and portfolio management.
- Holds regular one-on-one meetings with team members and attends client calls with team members to provide a high level of support while also observing behaviors to provide applicable feedback.
- Partners with Human Resources to hire the most qualified and talented individuals to fill open positions.
- Partners with Human Resources to address and resolve all team member performance concerns and issues in a timely manner.
- Prepares and conducts team member professional development discussions, KPI reviews, and annual performance reviews in accordance with Human Resources policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- *Risk Management:
- Provides oversight on terms and structure for loans presented by team members and strives to ensure any recommended structure meets the Bank's risk appetite, and profit measurements.
- Effectively monitors and helps manage the portfolio quality.
- Monitors all delinquencies and works with business bankers and clients on resolving client performance issues as quickly as possible to protect the Bank.
- Oversee the overall quality of portfolio management of the team, including but not limited to line renewals, maturities, documentation exceptions, and timely, consistent communications with clients to be documented by call reports and review of financial information for accurate, updated risk ratings.
- Recommends modifications to bank lending policies and procedures; ensures that changes to loan policies are adhered to by team members.
- *Business Development and Sales Culture:
- Leads business development efforts to grow commercial relationships, inclusive of all aspects of the banking relationship including lending, deposits, treasury and cash management, and other financial solutions provided by Two Rivers Bank.
- Works closely with other sales leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve sales effectiveness from development through implementation of existing and new programs.
- Drives optimization, including CRM management, sales training, goal setting, and sales activity tracking.
- Builds targeted insights to assist with the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go-to-market strategies.
- Regularly seeks to improve Bank performance and team performance and makes recommendations for improvements/changes to policy, procedures, and activity levels when the opportunity for improvement is recognized.
- Works closely with other department managers in Information Technology, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Retail Banking to drive improvement in quality, volume, and profitability.
- Responsible for coordinating, organizing, and managing all performance reporting for the Business Banking line of business.
