Choate Rosemary Hall seeks 2-3 Building Monitors for immediate hire and beyond into the 2022-23 academic year.


These roles are part-time, paid positions that work during the school year. The schedule is up to 20/25 hours per week that includes evening and weekend hours.


Job duties include:

  • Ensuring a safe environment in which students are engaged in club meetings, club activities, artistic practice, rehearsals, and more.
  • Assists the Student Activities staff in executing and evaluating weekend activities.
  • Moving about through the various building spaces to maintain a supportive presence, and an awareness of building use and occupancy.
  • Visual inspection and walk through each assigned space at the end of the shift to ensure all students have exited at closing time.
  • Watering the plants on a weekly basis.


  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably adolescents.
  • Previous experience in residential academic settings preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills, flexibility, good judgment, high energy, and ability to work as a team member.
  • Occasionally moves watering container weighing up to 25 pounds throughout building to supply water to plants.
  • Occasionally perform basic word processing tasks.
  • Some college-level coursework in recreation management, residential life, or related field preferred.
