$15.95 hourly rate with a $500 sign-on bonus after working 90-full days.

Responsible for cleaning activity/handling solid and hazardous waste in an automotive manufacturing facility. General activity includes janitorial activities, lifting, water blasting, preventative maintenance of cleaning equipment, inspection of waste storage areas and documentation as required. Scheduling subject to union seniority.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Using solvents, high pressure water blasters up to 40,000 psi and manual scraping/chipping to clean walls, hoses, windows, grates, lights, robots, etc.;
• Grease rails and perform other minor maintenance;
• Vacuum and wipe interior and exterior of equipment;
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming;
• Perform other specialized paint booth cleaning jobs as required.
• Lock out/tag out of equipment for safe entry into energized areas of the paint shop
• Confined space entry procedures for safe entry into confined space areas needing to be cleaned
• General janitorial functions such as office and restroom cleaning

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting highly preferred
• Able to stand, kneel, and bend for long periods of time and reach within 6” to the ground
• Able to climb ladders and stairs without difficulty
• Lifting, carrying and pulling equipment of various size, shape, and weight
• Experience operating a Fork Truck preferred
