Opal Foods is accepting applications for the position of Biosecurity Technician for our Hampton, IA location. This position is responsible for ensuring that only permitted and bio-secure personnel and equipment/vehicles are allowed into the facility by thoroughly checking information, sanitizing tires, and reporting any noncompliant activity immediately.

Position Responsibilities:

• Check every individual entering the facility (driving past the employee parking lot) for proper clearance and in accordance with Opal’s biosecurity policy or orders of the day.
• Spray tires with disinfect and maintain sprayers and concentration of disinfectant.
• Maintain hand-sanitizer and foot disinfectant stations and require entrants to use both
• Providing directions to individuals with clearance as to what they should do and where they should go
• Provide biosecurity attire to all visitors with clearance
• Communicate with plant and farm for any deliveries or issues of any kind
• Maintain clean workspace
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

• Must demonstrate attention to details
• Must be available to be scheduled for work 7 days a week including holidays
• Must be clocked in and ready to work every day scheduled
