We are looking for a Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team here at SPBS!

On-call, flexible scheduling, and regional travel throughout the HDO will be required to accommodate client needs. This may include working outside of normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Must meet all vendor credentialing and/or vaccination requirements, as required by client.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s degree in a technical or electronics field or equivalent military training is required.
  • CBET certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical equipment.
  • Instrument & scope washer, steam & chemical sterilizer, boiler and water saving system experience is required.
  • Sterile Processing Department background and familiarity with Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP), Getinge, Medivators, and Steris is a plus.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, provide expert-level experience in the repair, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment, instrumentation, and support systems used in healthcare delivery. Execute professional-level preventive maintenance on medical equipment. Provide remedial corrective maintenance and maintain documentation of all service events, tests, and maintenance performed on all equipment.

ESSENTIALS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Biomedical Equipment Technician II will…

  • Repair, install, maintain and calibrate and inspect complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and electrical safety testing on equipment, devices, and systems and monitor completion of preventive maintenance activities performed by outside vendors.
  • Review the outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements.
  • Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Control costs within budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintain professional conduct at all times.
  • Maintain accurate documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, tracking both addition and deactivation of medical equipment.
  • Assist, manage and monitor third-party repairs.
  • Properly maintain company-issued equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate communications within region/division and throughout the company as well as with vendors, manufacturers, and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as government regulations.
  • Develops and presents solution options to the supervisor on critical issues.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction on equipment operation and maintenance to personnel as needed.
  • Provide operational mentoring to other biomedical equipment technicians.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.
  • Maintain expected productivity according to productivity and billing requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $63,451.00 per year
