The Behavioral and Community Services Director assumes supervisory authority and accountability for the organizational division comprised of Seneca Nation Health System’s (SNHS) behavioral health, outreach and community support functions including Behavioral Health, Child and Family Services, Care Collaboration Unit, Prevention, and Seneca Strong departments operating on both Cattaraugus and Allegany territories. The Behavioral and Community Services Director also contributes directly to the formulation, implementation, development, and measurement of SNHS’ strategic plan and operational goals, and maintains direct oversight for grant/budgetary resources allotted to the division. The Behavioral and Community Services Director is a position reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the SNHS.

Job qualification

Licensed Clinical Social Work – R or Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Seven (7) to Ten (10) years of board based field experience working in behavioral health, community and human services with a minimum five (5) years supervisory/management clinical experience in behavioral health, community health, medical social work/case management, substance abuse and/or related specialties. Valid New York State LCSW-R without restrictions.

Knowledge/analytical and reasoning ability:

Understand the principals and practices of governmental, state and local organizations grant/budgetary administration. Ability to execute management/supervisory techniques to effectively evaluate performance of departmental staff, programs, and overall operations of multiple departments within a multi-site organization. In depth understanding of the behavioral health, chemical dependency and mental health delivery system, patient care delivery and community based programs with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
