Position Summary:

The Behavior Support Specialist provides one-on-one individualized support and resources to youth served in the program in various settings and life domains.

What You'll Do

• Provides one-on-one support to youth who would benefit from personal “coaching”, assistance and support.

• Implements and utilizes team developed plans and behavioral strategies for the youth being supported in various settings to best assure the youth’s success in the activities they are engaging in.
• Provides transportation and direct supervision and support to the youth in care.
• Participates fully in the Child and Family Team for the youth in care.
• Reports to team in written and verbal form how the youth performed in the activities that the Staff and youth engaged in.
• Maintains consistent communication with the foster family, and child and family team.
• Develops and follows through on all scheduled contacts and activities as developed by the Team.
• The Behavior Support Specialist will not modify the schedule or activities without full team approval
• The Behavior Support Specialist will meet weekly with the Program Supervisor and Child Placement Team for supervision.
• Attends all community appointments as needed.
• Reviews documentation to ensure that all goals/objectives as outlined in service plan are worked on.
• Implements and documents goals identified in the person-centered plan.

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma or equivalent appropriately accredited by the appropriate state department of education
• A minimum of at least one year of experience with youth preferred.
• A valid, unrestricted, state appropriate driver’s license and ability to be insured by Easter Seals UCP’s insurance carrier is required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
