The Indiana Institute for Behavior Analysis is an accredited, faith-based agency that provides pediatric therapies of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), Speech, and Occupational Therapy Services. TIIBA (The Indiana Institute for Behavior Analysis) is currently hiring a BCBA/BCaBA. The BCBA/BCaBAs selected for our Evansville and Indianapolis location will form a clinical team that is supportive, knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated to providing high quality treatment intervention and supervision to our client programs. Essential functions
The BCBA/BCaBAs selected for these new positions will have experience with:
- Conducting Assessments using the VB-MAPP, EFLS, AFLS (Assessment of Functional Living Skills), and other assessment tools
- Completing authorization (and re-authorization) packets that reflect medical necessity and support treatment plan recommendations
- Utilizing a verbal behavior approach in treatment planning
- Training, directing and supervising Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians
- Implementing Precision Teaching (PT) programs and using the Standard Celeration Chart
- Providing parent training and giving feedback to parents
- Conducting direct 1:1 therapy session as needed
- Advocating for families and working collaboratively with school personnel in the IEP Process
- Successfully managing a caseload of 6-8 full-time clients.
Executing Professional Crisis Management procedures
- Maintaining confidentiality and following the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board) Ethics Code
- Modeling professional leadership behaviors within various treatment settings
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Ability to use word processing program and emails.
Competencies: Qualified individuals must be certified as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). Certification must be in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and have experience supervising ABA Programs.
Supervisory responsibilities: Yes
Work environment: Works in the clinical (office) setting, in schools, the community and in client homes.
Physical demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements.
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
- Must have fine motor skills to operate electronic devices.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites within the Greater Indianapolis Area.
- Must have a valid Indiana Driver’s License & insurance in good standing.
Travel required: Possible travel of 10% or less
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least one (1) year experience as a BCBA/BCaBA
- Experience supervising BTs/RBTs
Preferred education and experience:
- Master’s Degree
- Two (2) or more years' experience as a BCBA/BCaBA
