WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Review incoming documentation for relevance and action needed.
- Monitoring to ensure that the bankruptcy /team are
- Oversees staff that works the GSE & Government loan bankruptcy portfolios through entire bankruptcy processes and queue management
- Manages Chapter 7 bankruptcy loans, including reaffirmations, Chapter 13 bankruptcy loans, and plan oversight, Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 bankruptcy loans
- Mitigates risk to the company by closely monitoring Motions for Sanctions and Adversary proceedings
- Reviews bankruptcy plans for feasibility and objections as needed
- Manages work list to ensure proper follow-up on bankrupt accounts is within compliance with Bankruptcy court, investor/insurer, and company procedures and expectations
- Aggressive follow-up and high touches at minimum weekly intervals to ensure files are moving without delays
- Oversees inbound/outbound calls (as needed) as it relates to bankruptcy, ensuring compliance with the bankruptcy code
- Performs timely follow-up with attorneys and bankruptcy trustees, follow up timely for hearings, discharges, and critical steps, and request referrals on delinquent bankruptcies and status updates
- Responds to written and verbal inquiries promptly
- Ensures referral to bankruptcy attorneys is timely when needed
- Oversee to ensure that the team is timely receiving and validating new bankruptcy notifications and updating the BSI system of records
- Provides oversight for the PCN and PPFN process
- Assure that POCs, TOC, and MFRs are filed timely, under investor/insurer guidelines, and all information is accurate and complies with bankruptcy jurisdiction rules.
- Provides oversight with bankruptcy billing statements to ensure timeliness and accuracy of borrower communication
- Due diligence and triage on transfer files to ensure that BSI has a system and all information is accounted for and accurate.
- Responsible for meeting legal requirements and following internal policies. Develop and maintain relationships with bankruptcy attorneys, bankruptcy trustees, debtor'debtor'seys, and investors.
- Responsible for reviewing all exception reporting; reviewing documents for compliance; looking for opportunities to streamline processes, reduce risk and improve accuracy
- Manages the losses that occur due to bankruptcy servicing errors to identify and correct root cause issues and minimize monthly loss exposure
- Maintains and updates the Bankruptcy Policies &Procedures; creates job aids when needed and works with BSI training group to develop ongoing training and staff certification.
- Managing all invoicing oversight and validating firm billing practices are in accordance with insurer guidelines.
- Any miscellaneous projects/duties assigned by the manager
- Oversight of national attorney firm network to ensure BSI expectations on file handling are communicated, and ongoing performance management occurs
WHAT WE’RE WE'RE FOR:
- Proficient with PC and related software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Sagent experience preferred
- 4-6 years of related experience in the bankruptcy industry
- Identify Issues and create resolutions quickly
- Highly effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively and efficiently
- Ability to work well in a team environment or individually
- Understanding of mortgage terminology, risk, and compliance
- Excellent computer skills
- Works well in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
