Title: API Security Engineer

6 Months plus

Bachelor's Degree required

We are seeking an experienced API Security Engineer with a background in application security to join our team. As an API Security AppSec Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing security solutions for our APIs and web/mobile applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and assess security risks and vulnerabilities and develop effective solutions to mitigate them.

Responsibilities:

· Design and implement security solutions for our APIs and applications

· Conduct security assessments and audits of API-based and application-based applications

· Identify and assess API security and application security risks and vulnerabilities

· Integrate API security and application security solutions with existing enterprise security infrastructure

· Conduct security testing techniques such as SAST, DAST, and open-source component analysis

· Ensure compliance with industry-standard security protocols and technologies such as OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS, OWASP Top 10, etc.

· Develop and maintain documentation related to API and application security policies and procedures.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective security solutions.

· Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and vulnerabilities.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field

· At least ten years of experience in IT or a related field that includes Software Development, API security, or application security

· Experience with security testing techniques such as SAST, DAST, and open-source component analysis is preferred.

· Mobile security experience, including knowledge of secure mobile app development

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex security challenges.

· Experience with compliance requirements such as GDPR, PCI, HIPAA, etc.

· Familiarity with cloud-based security solutions and APIs

· Experience in DevSecOps Pipeline is preferred.
