Avionics Software Engineer Job at Cimarron Software
Cimarron is seeking senior-level Avionics Software Engineers to support the Vulcan Centaur Ground Software avionics group in Centennial, CO.
Key Duties:
- Provide engineering software development to build and test capabilities for executing Ground Software Command & Control for the Computer Controlled Launch Set in support of the Vulcan Program.
- Build launch operations simulation models of the airborne and ground mechanical and fluids systems used for the development of ground command & control and communication software for the Vulcan Programs.
- Develop requirements that verify the aforementioned capabilities.
- Develop and perform tests to verify requirements, including sign-off.
- Provide analysis follow-up based on test results.
- Support and participate in TDM review boards and design gate reviews.
- Work unit and integration tests to demonstrate code meet requirements.
- Design and implement drawings, instructions, and other associated documentation and reports delivered to Confluence which shall be reviewed and approved by the customer, and shall produce documentation demonstrating V&V of all requirements.
- Support knowledge transfer of design and implementation to the customer ground software team.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
- 10 or more years of related experience.
- Experience working on an Agile/Scrum development team.
- In-depth experience with C/C++ and Object Oriented Programming.
- Experience developing software in a Linux environment.
- Experience with Git/Github and the MS Office suite.
- Experience with real-time software development and protocols (MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, Ethernet).
- Experience with Hardware-in-the Loop software testing.
- Experience with Test Driven Development.
- Experience with embedded system development.
- Familiarity with avionics box/component communication & interfaces with the flight computers, including:
- Flight computer experience.
- Autonomous safety systems experience.
- GPS receiver units experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
