AVIATION SUPPLY SENIOR LOGISTICIAN/TECHNICIAN SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (Senior SME Level 1)
Key Roles: Provide aviation logistics support – ordering and tracking of material for A/C maintenance, training and mentoring to aviation supply and aircraft maintenance personnel on a regular and recurring basis. Performs logistics program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product. Develops and provides input, enabling implementation of logistics program activities including Integrated Logistics Support, technical documentation, provisioning, etc.; resolves logistics problems, and compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistics operations.
The duties and responsibilities of this position will sharply focus on numerous areas – requisitioning, tracking, and receiving material, and compilation and documentation of data, analyzing the data, utilizing, and working in numerous databases, and producing reports in various forms and formats from MS Excel, MS Word, and other databases mentioned in the basic qualifications below.
- Requisition, track, and provide aviation materials from retail and wholesale supply system in direct support of A/C maintenance.
- Instills “Best Business Practices” at the flying squadrons to reduce NMCM/NMCS and stabilize readiness.
- Provides continuous assessment, feedback, and one-on-one as well as group mentorship; ensures personnel obtain adaptable, sustainable skills.
- Teach short- and long-term maintenance and supply support planning.
- Provides a clear supply demand signal that enhances planeside material availability. Supports the client with all readiness and logistics efforts connected with capturing the current and forecasted scheduled maintenance requirements that support customer (flying squadron or organizational level activity) achievement of the Flight Hour Program
- Collect or coordinate the collection of weekly and monthly metrics data, perform root-cause analysis to identify gaps in performance metrics, present root-cause analysis for barrier resolution, assemble weekly and monthly analysis products/summaries using appropriate database tools.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience (12 years minimum) with DoD logistics and asset accountability, preferably at both the retail (MALS or Intermediate level) and wholesale levels (DLA and/NAVSUP)
- Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of R-Supply and NALCOMIS databases & functionality
- Knowledge of supply chain management, logistics processes, inventory and records management, and advanced aviation supply knowledge of demand forecasting.
- Knowledge of reliability, availability, and maintainability of assets to perform analysis and supportability calculations.
- Effective interpersonal skills: ability to interact with clients dynamically.
- 12 years’ experience required; bachelor’s degree in related field desired.
- Responsible for the development of formal reports and briefing and reporting documents.

Additional Qualifications:
- Leverage knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of supply chain management.
- Assist with the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure inventory quality and cost control, and adequate supply material availability (SMA).
- Support distributions, monitor inventory, and analyze requirements to develop strategies to achieve delivery times and order fill rates.
- Maintain appropriate inventory records and prepare reports for product support analysis.
- Produce and submit regular reports, work breakdown structure (WBS), and other administrative duties to track and report progress toward program goals.
- Coordinate logistics activities with internal and external clients.
Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
Location & Travel: Some travel required. Locations include, but are not limited to, MCAS Miramar, CA, MCAS Beaufort, SC, NAS LeMoore CA, and NAS Oceana VA. Occasional limited travel to other locations that may include OCONUS.
Compensation: Competitive compensation package offered to include base annual salary, paid vacation, and 401K match plan – furnished upon submission of resume.

Pay: $78,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
