POSITION DESCRIPTION

AUTO BODY PAINT PREP TECHNICIAN

ADESA is looking for Preppers to join our Body Shop Team! Our state-of-the-art body shops play a vital role in our vehicle reconditioning and sale-ready process. Whether you are entry-level, intermediate, or consider yourself a collision expert, we want to talk with you if: You’re motivated by staying busy, taking pride in your work, enjoying working in a team environment, and want to contribute your way to upward mobility and growth.

Prepper I (entry to intermediate level)

The Paint Prepper is tasked with quality preparation for all assigned vehicles prior to the paint, reassembly, and final finish stages.

• Reviews estimates and understands the scope of repair
• Tapes surface areas and parts with precision to minimize tapelines and overspray
• Applies masking paper as necessary
• Parts removal and reassembly as required
• Performs final surface cleaning and preparation for proper adhesion

Prepper II (expert level)

• Reviews estimates and understands the scope of repair
• Inspects body repairs to ensure standards are met
• Tapes surface areas and parts with precision to minimize tapelines and overspray
• Applies masking paper as necessary
• Parts removal and reassembly as required
• Performs final surface cleaning and preparation for proper adhesion
• May block and sand repair areas as needed
• Prime, edge, and jam replacement parts as requested
• Learns to mix paint as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
