GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is currently seeking a Temporary Traffic Sign Crew Technician in Casper, Wyoming. This position will assist the traffic department in highway sign operations for District 2, including installing new signs and maintaining existing signs.

- Assist traffic crews with general maintenance operations.
- Install and maintain district roadway signs on the highway system.
- Maintain and operate complex equipment safely and proficiently.
- Under limited supervision, may flag traffic and set up traffic control devices.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Preference may be given to applicants who have a current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements prior to employment.
**Agency requires that the successful applicant have a clean MVR and Class A Commercial Driver's License within 30 days of employment.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Knowledge and use of power tools and tape measures.
- Knowledge of Federal and State requirements for the proper use of personal protective equipment.

Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.- This position requires working outside in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to travel extensively within the district.
- Subject to a 24-hour call-out in the event of an emergency.

- WYDOT will conduct motor vehicle record checks to verify a valid driver's license.
- Individuals in this classification must pass a pre-employment drug screening and/or physical and will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
- Individuals in this classification must be available for emergency work calls at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Acceptance of an appointment to this classification signifies that the individual is aware of this requirement and will comply with it. Failure to be available for emergency work without an acceptable excuse will be grounds for immediate disciplinary action and possible dismissal.
- Individuals must report to the department Shop within 30 minutes of receiving a call.
- This is a temporary, full-time position that could last up to 6 months.
