    JOB TITLE:

    Athletic Trainer

    JOB GOAL:

    Provide "Athletic Training Services" to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Certificated Teacher
    • Certificated Athletic Trainer
    • Experience working in HS athletic training
    • Experienced working with athletic training equipment and overseeing training room


    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Months/191 Days

    COMPENSATION: $54,486 - $64,293

    BENEFITS: As per District policy

    REPORTS TO: Department supervisor

    EVALUATION: Initial evaluation to be completed no later than ninety (90) days after first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.

    HOURS: 40 hours per week

    CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Maintain appropriate general treatment orders to be reviewed annually and approved by the team physician.
    • Provide athletic training services for all home athletic contests and away varsity football games. If a conflict arises between an away varsity football game and a home contest, the varsity football event will supersede upon approval the QCHS Athletic Director.
    • Act as liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes and their parents.
    • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments and provide insurance claim forms for sports injuries treated by a physician and or when providing “Athletic Training Services”.
    • Develop and maintain a budget for the athletic training program.
    • Provide the coaches with a list of athletes medically eligible to compete under district and state rules and regulations.
    • Assist the athletic director/principal as requested.
    • Provide sufficient water for athletic activities (games and practices) for all QCHS sports and visiting teams.
    • Stock and maintain travel medical kits.
    • Teach 1-2 classes, (Sports Medicine 3 and oversee Health Care Internship students).
    • Provide “Athletic Training Services” for visiting teams to QCHS.
    • Clean and regularly maintain all sports medicine equipment and water coolers.
    • Assist with other on campus activities when needed, i.e., HOSA, class coverage, unified sports, toy box.
    • Communicate regularly with the school nurse.
    • On campus from approx. 10am to when events and/or practices conclude.
    • Supervise high school students as assistants.
    • Attend staff meetings (All facility, coaches, CTE, etc.)
    • Update and maintain the QCHS Athletic Training Policies and Procedures Manual.
    • Lifting of approximately 80-100lbs, daily.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
