BGM is seeking an entrepreneurial, creative and team-oriented Tax Associate to join our organization. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your skills and experiences. You will prepare income tax returns, including individuals, corporations and partnerships for a variety of clients. Associates regularly collaborate with partners and managers to provide outstanding client service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Proficiently prepare tax returns
• Formulate and deliver innovative tax planning, strategy and client service
• Identify and capitalize on business opportunities with our current client base and network to attract new clients to the firm
• Maintain active communications with clients to develop longstanding business relationships, manage expectations, safeguard satisfaction and ensure deadlines are met
• Work in a variety of industries including: real estate, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, distribution, not-for-profit and financial services
• Advance your expertise in tax matters through continued education and research
• Complete research and special projects as needed

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Accounting with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
• 1 year previous Accounting experience, preferably in public accounting (previous internship experience can be included in this)
• Current CPA or demonstrated progress towards obtaining CPA certification
• An accounting internship experience preferred
• Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office programs
• Experience with accounting software such as CCH Prosystems and/or GoFileRoom is a plus
• High level of organization, focus, exceptional attention to detail, and strong follow-up skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Willingness to take supervision and guidance
• Team management skills – the ability to coach, motivate, and direct a team of people
• Team player with a positive “can-do” attitude
• Creative problem-solving ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in the delivery of quality client service
