Key Responsibilities
As an Associate Software Engineer, this role involves:
- Interpretation of complete building automation systems including controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, and networks into configured and programmed WebCTRL systems.
- Able to interpret plans (including architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints), specifications, and contract documents to deliver compliant and optimized designs.
- Knowledge of Automated Logic software, hardware, peripherals, add-ons, and services.
- Familiarity with third-party communication protocols used in building automation (e.g. BACnet, Modbus, LON, N2, etc.). Able to design integrations with the same.
- Able to request clarifications accurately and effectively to technical or scope information via a formal request for information process.
- Tests the project’s programs to ensure they meet the specified sequences of operation and that they perform according to industry standards.
- Conduct graphics engineering functions which include creating equipment and floor plan graphics per project documents. Review graphics for completeness and accuracy.
- Support of functional testing (commissioning) for building systems.
- Performs the troubleshooting of local and wide area network issues as they arise.
- Tracking and communication of changes to sequences of operation due to programming constraints/opportunities or responses to requests for information.
- Able to balance multiple concurrent priorities through clear communication and proactive expectation setting with manager and project stakeholders.
- Competent verbal and written communicator, able to translate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone apply their technical knowledge and experience for the successful database programming and custom graphics development for all assigned projects. You will need:
- AA/AS Engineering degree with 5+ years relevant experience
- 1+ year of experience with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, etc.

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
- Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control preferred
- Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation preferred
- BA/BS Engineering degree with 2–5+ years relevant experience
- MA/MS Engineering degree with 0–2+ years relevant experience
