The Carpentry Assistant Manager acts as a support role for the Fabrication Manager.
You will assist with ordering materials, scheduling labor, attending project meetings, communicating with other departments and project managers via all channels, delegating and monitoring project work process and quality standards on the shop floor.

We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of fabrication, who is highly organized and is capable of working comfortably in an environment with shifting demands.
Your Opportunity:
- Oversee daily operations on the Fabrication shop floor.
- Assist with scheduling of labor.
- Review technical drawings - flagging and clarifying issues with the Fabrication Manager before distributing drawings to the build team.
- Review, plan, assign, and track tasks according to the project's needs and production schedule priorities.
- Interpret and notate technical drawings with Senior Carpenters and Carpenters, work with Fabrication Manager to answer questions, and report feedback for process improvements.
- Act as department liaison to other departments, in person and virtually.
- Order materials when required.
- Attend project meetings in Fabrication Manager’s absence.
- Assume all Manager duties in Fabrication Manager’s absence.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role in a Fabrication environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of wood, metal, and plastic-based engineered sheet goods.
- Comfortable with technology, including Gmail, Google Drive, and project management software (Asana).
- Ability to lead crews of varying skill levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Skilled at multitasking and working toward multiple deadlines.
