Your Role With Us:

  • With limited supervision, performs a variety of minor and complex repairs, installations, and modifications to hospital equipment and buildings.
  • Responds to and resolves emergency situations on systems and equipment
  • Maintains repair and preventative maintenance history by accurately documenting maintenance and operational records in electronic maintenance management system.

Background/Expertise:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of building and equipment maintenance or equivalent experience required.
  • Must possess a valid Oregon driver’s license and maintain authorization according to Salem Health’s Fleet Safety Program policy.

• Specialized trade license preferred. Special knowledge, skills, & abilities: • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in hospital equipment, safety policies and emergency start-up/shutdown procedures.

• Must be knowledgeable in the safe and proper use and operation of general maintenance equipment, power tools, and hand tools. Must have strong mechanical skills and dexterity. • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics as required.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must have good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read operation and maintenance manuals. Must be able to write legibly.
  • Must be able to update work orders on computerized maintenance. program, including entering hours worked and supplies used.
  • Must possess general understanding of applicable codes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of building systems required.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
